Annual Awards

Here is a selection of the awards presented to cadets for a range of reasons every year. here you can see winners from previous years and the current holder of any award. Most awards are presented at the squadron’s annual presentation evening at the end of the year.

Please Note: The Annual Presentation Evening for 2015 did not take place.

Cadet of the Year

Best Cadet

Menna Evans

This is the highest award any cadet can receive (although it is occasionally given to Corporals who were only recently promoted). This cadet, over the past year, will have proven themselves to show the best cadet qualities of all their peers. Often this leads to a promotion, and thus far all our Cadets of the Year have reached at least the rank of cadet Sergeant. This doesn’t mean they will be promoted, but it does prove the constant high standards demonstrated by the Cadet of the Year.

N/A

Introduced in 2014, this is awarded to the NCO who has made the biggest improvement in the space of the year in their standards and abilities. This NCO only award is comparable to the Most Improved Cadet, hence explaining why a lower rank may win this award. Regardless, this award notes that the recipient has demonstrated a high development speed- fuelled by a lot of hard work. Often the recipient will, or will have, progressed up the NCO rank structure very quickly.
